“Everything, everywhere all at once” is a movie about love. People usually think of romance when the word love is mentioned. And while romance is just as wonderful, “Everything, everywhere all at once” is not limited to just that. It’s love between humans to humans. It’s compassion, kindness, empathy, and faith. Not faith in God or any bigger force than us but simply faith in one another. There is so much hate in the world right now. We discuss social issues like racism, sexism, and equality, and try to solve them. But maybe the answer is simply to just be kind.
So do other universes really exist? Well, we don’t really know because “We’re all small and stupid”. Years ago, people were so sure that the world was flat, and Earth was the center of the universe, only to find out later that it’s just a small planet in one of many galaxies. There is so much we don’t know about yet we refuse to expand our knowledge. Maybe if we try to walk in others’ shoes and view things from others’ perspectives, we will be less ignorant and nonchalant about others’ difficulties.
No matter how meaningful the message is, it means nothing if it’s not communicated well. That’s why “Everything everywhere all at once” leaves such a significant impression on each of us because it is made in an engaging way and is easy to understand. Nothing matters and yet everything matters. Even if we only have a few specs of times together, it can still be wonderful if we know how to cherish it. Nothing matters and yet everyone matters. How you treat people matters because, at the end of the day, only your words and actions resonate in people’s hearts instead of how you look or what you wear.
